I don't love it, particularly, but I can see how it would be refreshing. Personally, I'd way prefer it as a nickname.
Kenneth
Kenton
Kenta
Kentigern (although this is Scottish so I haven't the foggiest idea whether it's pronounced anywhere close to 'Kent')
Kennet
Klement
Kenaston
Vikenti
Innokenti
Akhenaton

It's my husbands name. For the first several months, I thought he shortened his name from Kenneth or Kenton. But nope, his name is Kent. Sometimes people miss the T so he becomes Ken a lot.

I really like Kent. I was shocked when I learned it's my uncle's name (he goes by his middle name, always has)

Since I'm a sucker for longer names with a nickname, Kenton nn Kent has always been on my list, but I think it's a great stand alone name too.

Just makes me think of the (fairly) large county in England.

As long as the ln isn't Clark! Since Kenneth seems unusable still, it's one way to achieve a Ken son.

Why is Kenneth unusable?

No clue. Seems perfectly good to me. But it peaked in about 1950 and has been in steep decline since 1965ish. Probably just has a middle-aged to elderly image. Also, people here often say they aren't keen on names ending in -th, like Kenneth, Gwyneth and Beth.
