Re: Which candy?
in reply to a message by Ylva
The candy called carmel or caramel - it's basically heated sugar that turns into a sticky brown sweet goo... used inside of chocolates and on apples a lot of the time.:)

Oh, caramel, I thought it was some famous brand of candyWe call it "karamell". But I don't pronounce "caramel" as "carmel". For one thing, I pronounce caramel with 3 syllables and Carmel with 2. For another thing, I pronounce the A in "car" differently. Maybe I pronounce one of them wrong, I would pronounce the "car" in Carmel more like "car" (but with an audible R-sound)."But it’s all right now.

lol.I pro. caramel w/3 syl. and carmel w/2 syl. as well. I just thought caramel might be more familiar than carmel. There is a famous candy in the US called Carmellos (made by Cadbury) which are quite delicious... I think of those whenever I hear "Carmel" or "Carmella" (also, for some strange reason - maybe it's the Halloween caramel apple connection - but Carmella makes me think of vampires too lol).
