Peony
I've been reading Lisa See's novel "Peony in Love" (where the title character is Chinese, so her name actually sounds different though she's referred to as Peony in English) and while I'm not a particular fan of flower names, esp. uncommon ones, I rather like Peony.WDYT? Is it usable?- Formerly known as Murasaki-italianlaowaigirl.blogspot.com

peonies are my favourite flower and have thought about this name as a middle name but not as a first. I think it can work, better than Apple, Bear and Cash like some celebs have used !!

I love peonies, however the name said fast just makes me think of "pee on me." Nope. Not usable for me.

No. It starts with "pee."

It looks so nice, written! But as other have mentioned, too much pee. It sounds quite nice in French, Pivoine, as you know, but you probably don't want that. I like Poppy, though many don't. It's too bad Tulip is somehow unusable, not sure why. I SO dislike Lily, also Lillian. I still like Rose very much, never mind if it's maybe overused.

It's one of the more unfortunate flower names, I think, because it's so weak and whiny, so close-sounding to peeing and penis.

I think Peony is certainly usable in the same way Poppy is usable. I just think they're both so treacly sweet that I'd personally avoid them. Also, I tend to shy away from any name that has the 'pee' sound in it. Kids can be vicious.

I don't think it's useable in English. Starts with pee, sounds too much like pee on me or peeny (as in penis). Can't see that going well.

I think it's usable, probably more so for a mn, but it would still work for a fn.

I think only as a middle name. I do love Peonies ...but as the mother of small children, let me assure you that there would be snickering and she'd probably get called "Pee on me" or "pee pee" or some variation of pee. Children just looooooove the potty humor, so a name like this would just be too much to resist for them ;)
