I had a friend at University called Priscilla. She was in her 60s and the name suited her. Thanks to that association, and the nickname Cilla (as in Cilla Black), I think of it as an older person's name. I can't imagine it on a kid and I don't like any of the nicknames (Prissy is just...ugh!).

Opposite :)I had a friend when younger whose name was Priscilla. Her siblings all had similar old-fashioned sort of frilly names, so it worked, and she was fun and quirky, so she made the name her own. I think that that happens with most names. If you sense that a child of yours would meld with a certain name and you don't have major misgivings or think it's super weird then go for it! I called her Prisca as a nn, btw. :)

Right, Prisca!I had an idea that Priscilla was mentioned in the New Testament, in St.Paul's letters, so I looked her up, and yes, she was. Seems she and her husband, Aquilla, (I think that was his name) were associates of Paul. One of the letters mentions Aquilla and Prisca, which is kind of a nice touch, as though speaking of a friend named Deborah, you'd say "Deb", or "Debbie."

Ooh, can we know her siblings names?

I love it. So seventeenth century, and not common. I went to high school with a Priscilla, who would be in her early fifties now. She's the only one I've ever known.

Oooooo. Not my style at all. The Pris part makes my think prissy. The Scilla makes me think girly/frilly/princessy. None of those things are things I usually love in a name. I did know a Priscilla who is a wonderful, kind person though.

That's one of the names I really hate. I don't like the sound or the spelling, and it makes me think of a spoiled brat.

I adore Priscilla. If I had a daughter right now and I couldn't use Adeline there's a good chance that'd be her name. It's great and there should be more of them out there. The only problem is the nickname but who really needs a nickname related to their name anyway?

Priscilla is very pretty and delicate.

I like it. It's kind of in GP category for me though because well…it's a little out there for everyday use. I can just imagine it now - Prissy Priscilla! Sounds like the kind of name someone with too much money would name their kid. That being said, I just like the sound. It sounds mysterious and maybe even a little edgy to me.

I LOVE Priscilla! I love its retro-cheesy-beautiful charms. I'd totally use it. I like it more than Drusilla (which I also like, but still)

I guess it's okay. Not a bad name, but not a name I would use.
