I've encountered a couple of girls named Arin (spelled the same way) and they do say 'air-in', probably because it's considered a 'feminization' of Aaron or alternative spelling or Erin, both pronounced 'air-in' themselves here. Maybe your parents pronunciation is like an accent thing?
