Elsa or Catherine?
I'm having a bit of a hard time choosing between my two favorites right now. Catherine is a family name, and Elsa is German, which I am on my mother's side.
Which one would you choose?

I always thought Catherine was too popular, but I'm starting to come around on it just because it sounds so strong. I've always liked Elsa as well, but I suspect with Frozen having just come out, there might be an influx of little Elsas.
I prefer the Elsa to Catherine.
Thanks! Keep them coming
I would choose Elsa. It is easy to say and spell, it is snappy and spunky, and it is less popular than Catherine.
Catherine is very nice, but Elsa wins.

Dang, both are so good. I like Cate as a nickname, and Catherine is very nice. Elsa is sweet too and Elsie would be an adorable nickname. I really don't actually know which one I'd choose.
Personally I like Catherine better. Elsa is a very pretty name, but to me it is a nickname for Elsabeth not a name on its own. I think that you should choose the name you like best and you shouldn't care what other people think because its your choice.
I would like to make a suggestion though, you could go with Elsa/ Elsabeth Catherine or Catherine Elsa/ Elsabeth.

They're both lovely. I prefer Elsa because it's a bit less common. Elsa Catherine as a combo is gorgeous.
I think of the two I would go with Catherine. Neither are particularly my favorites, but I do think Catherine has a more timeless quality than Elsa. I also like that you can do a nickname like Kate...
I suppose the way that Catherine/Katherine has gotten so popular lately may tend to influence my opinion.
:) I do like the nickname Ellie, though, if you did Elsa.

I would probably go with Elsa, simply because it's not as popular or common as Catherine and it's variants.
Katherine, hands down. It's timeless, plus there's quite a few nicknames to use, whereas with Elsa, your only nickname is Elsie, and that's a name for a cow.
