I always have gone back and forth on Gwilym. I want to really like it because I love William, and Welsh bonus. Today, I like it.
NANW! My favorite. :)
Deio is totally cute too. My favorite opera dude has a son named Deio Sion. Yes, cute.
Oh yes, Gaynor. I went through a major Gaenor crush a few years ago.
Cybi. What's that? Seems too cutesy for a formal name.

I go back and forth on Gwilym too - it feels a bit elderly somehow, but it is a nice name. The big surprise for me in this lot was a Glenda young enough to have children! sounds very granny-ish.
Ha, Cybi was a Dark Ages saint. See my reply to Morgaine.

Hey Pie! Do you know anything about Cybi and Enlli, by chance?
Cybi (pr. Cubby) was a Dark Ages saint. It's not a very common name, but it's a local name in the top left-hand corner of North Wales, where various things are named after him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybi
This is Enlli:
- Ynys Enlli, an island off the coast of NW Wales, called Bardsey Island in English. It used to be a place of pilgrimage and there are supposed to be 20,000 saints buried on it (although I don't see how they'd fit, as it's not very big!). There also used to be a small community on it, although there's only one farm now. The Welsh name means 'in the currents'.

Oooh neat. That makes me like it, silliness and all.
See my reply to Morgaine re Cybi. I think he was originally Cornish.
Mabon reminds me of a Welsh rapper! MC Mabon.:) Tis a nice name.

Wow, so many of these names are mysterious to the non-Welsh person.
Elidir sounds romantic.
I love Iago Elidir.
I reckon the Cornish version of Iago sounds cool and is usable - i.e. Jago - and a friend wanted to use it after I suggested it, but it was vetoed. I predict Jago will be the next "big thing" in boys' names!

I really like Jago too. Hope it doesn't get trendy! Elidir reminds me of Elidir Fawr, a mountain at Llanberis which is beautiful from some angles, but has a great big ugly slate mine carved out of the front of it. Maybe Iago Elidir's family live near it.
