Well my first instinct was "mi-RAYL", but I guess the alternate spelling you suggested proves that the L is silent. I guess it looks kind of French... is it French? (I should just look it up lol.) Anyway, I don't know which spelling. Mireil seems more elegant, Mirei is maybe easier to pronounce but more "cute" looking. That's not a bad thing, but cute vs. elegant is definitely a pretty big difference.
ETA: I read some of the other comments, and Mireille is even more confusing! I know that "eil" would sound like "ay" in French, but I thought that "lle" would always make an L sound!
