I would be torn on if I should pronounce is like Mireille or if it was supposed to be mee-ree-uhl (Like Muriel, but with an I where the U goes), because I wouldn't assume that someone living in the US would pronounce it right to start with and because I haven't seen that spelling before. But I think the majority of the people would have more difficulty on first sight and maybe take some time to learn the proper spelling as it's not intuitive in English.
Mirei just isn't the same name to me, and I think you'd end up with a lot of people saying Miri, and being even more dense about fixing their pronunciation.

If you like MIR-ay, but not the spelling (which can be confusing to non-French speakers), you could use Mireia or Mireya. Those look a bit easier to pronounce in English, but are very close without being confused with Muriel.
