I like the name Talitha too. I knew one little girl with this name - in Papua New Guinea. Her family pronounced the name tuh-LEE-thuh, with the emphasis on the middle syllable. BtN shows the emphasis on the 1st syllable - how would you pronounce it?

I'd say TAlitha in English, but taLEEta - emphasis on the middle, t instead of th - in Afrikaans! I'd expect to hear it like Tabitha but with an l.

Thanks! It's interesting that the Afrikaans and Papua New Guinea pronunciations seem to be very similar. Just a coincidence I'm sure but interesting nonetheless.
