I prefer Theodore to Abraham but I'd probably prefer Abram to Theodore (if you could be talked into Abram :-p)
I like both Theodore and Abraham though, I also like both Theo and Teddy equally (it's nice to have two good options with very different 'feels' so you can see what suits the kid), and I adore Bram but hate Abe.
I live in Australia too and the only Abraham that I know is my cousin's little one. He's adorable and gets Bram or Brammy as a nickname. I know two Theodores, one about 8 years old and always called Theodore and one my age (25) who always goes by Theo. I don't think either is going to be popular enough anytime soon that you're in any danger of more than one in a grade or possibly even a school.
