I used Avon as a mn in a Shakespearean themed poll once: Beatrice Avon. I'm rather taken with it. So as a male name? I can't see it. The American company that sells makeup just won't let me think of it as a fn, let alone a male one.
Avalon is easier to see as a fn, and I agree it feels more feminine. I've used it in combos before, just not as a fn. I've got Piper Avalon.
