Re: Ivor, Hester, Keturah

I very much dislike Ivor and Hester. My sister's bf is named Ivor and he's lovely, and I've known a handful of people named Ivor or Ivo who have been plenty nice... but I just find the name unpleasant. Hester to me is aged, faded, festering, pus-filled, full of hay and pestilence, dead roaches belly up in dust, and very much makes me think of Hastur and/or the lovecraftian King in Yellow. Plus, the only Hester I've ever known was the uber-racist daughter of an uber-racist psycho woman who was in some cult and has legal previous for physically assaulting and stripping muslim women in public. Hester wanted to be an artist, wasn't very good at it (and is still trying to my knowledge) and has gone down the same route as her mother, physically abusing people who aren't 'pure'. So, for me, it was tainted from a young age, but I doubt I'd like it even if weren't.
Sorry if I went overboard with my distaste for Hester. Of course, our tastes differ.
Keturah is so lovely, though. It's gauche, blocky and odd, and that somehow turns out so charming. I'd never use it, but I do like contemplating it.
