Elizabeth
Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it too bland? What is your favorite nickname? Do you have any combos?

I love it but prefer the spelling Elisabeth. Classy, feminine name that has stood the test of time. I think Ella and Ellie make cute nicknames, but overall, I like Elisabeth on its own.Elisabeth Maria
Elisabeth Kate
Elisabeth Grace
Elisabeth Rose
Elisabeth Reina

I think Elizabeth is classic and beautiful. I've always liked it actually. My fave nn's are Lizzie and Eliza.

I love Elizabeth. I know it is 'boring' but it is one of the true classic girls names and I actually don't meet many young ones these days, and I work around a lot of kids. I love all the nickname options for it too, it is just such a versatile and classy name.My favourite nickname is probably Bess and I also love Betsy and Lizzie. I am fine with Liz, Ellie, Eliza, Elise, and Beth as well. The only one I really hate is Libby. And Buffy. Ick.

I REALLY really WANT to like it, but the only feeling I can conjur is "meh"Like, it's pretty, and classic and all that jazz and I want to love it for the sheer amount of great NN options, but god is it pasty generic off-brand tissue paper pulled out of a hat, or what?!My favorite NNs are Betsy, Bess/Bessie, Liz/Lizzie, and Libby. Elsa and Elise are great too but feel to me, more like names in their own right

I like it. It's too grand to be bland ;)Just this afternoon, upon telling my 6 year old that her baby cousin had just arrived, and was a girl (like my daughter had hoped/guessed) but has yet to be named....she says "oh I bet she'll be named Elizabeth. That's the perfect name for a baby princess" =) Cute, and I couldn't help but agree. My favourite nickname is Betsy, which after my aforementioned daughter was born for weeks I felt she was a Betsy. I named her in utero, and did not waiver from that, and now, her name is perfect for her. But at the time, when she was all chubby thighs and cheeks and a fuzzy little fauxhawk, she just seemed so Betsy to me. That being said, I also love Eliza, Elsie, Elsa, Libby, Beth, and Betty. So many great options!

I find it a tad boring and expected, yes. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't ever use it for my own kid. That being said, there is a reason why it's such a popular classic. It's pleasing enough in sound and there are a ton of nickname possibilities. I personally like Libby and Beth, and Betty if it counts. I'd also include Eliza except I prefer it as its own name (Beth too, but it also makes sense as a nickname.)

Elizabeth is gorgeous and regal now and guaranteed to be gorgeous and regal in the future. It may not be the freshest name on the block, but I'll take timeless names like Elizabeth over them every time. My favorite nns are: Elsa / Elsie, Bess, Bette, Libby, Lizzie and Lee. Elizabeth Georgia
Elizabeth Verity
Elizabeth Jonquil
Elizabeth Celia
Elizabeth Grace -- an oldie but a goodie
Elizabeth Noël
Elizabeth Delphine
Elizabeth Freya
Elizabeth Maxine
Elizabeth Claudia
Elizabeth Sophie
Elizabeth Frederica ("freh-DREE-cuh")
Elizabeth Margot
Elizabeth Clare
Elizabeth Petra
Elizabeth Diana
Elizabeth Joanne / Joanna
Elizabeth Caroline

I like it, but like all classic names that have in the past been very overused, it's a bore-fest. Not really bland, but a bore-fest.Another reason I'd never use it, besides it being a bore-fest, is that I'm not overly crazy about any of the nicknames. Some of them I hate. Of them all, Betsy is the one I like most.

I like it. It's my middle name. I don't really like any of the nicknames for it. Libby maybe...Elizabeth Alexandra
Elizabeth Helen
Elizabeth Rosemonde
Elizabeth Victoria

Wow. Elizabeth Rosemonde and Elizabeth Victoria are so romantic. :-)

I like it. It's my middle name and I went by it for a few years. I'd still be going by it if I hadn't married Alexander - his sister is Elizabeth. Prefer no nickname.

Not a fan, it's just far too boring and I can't stand the nn Lizzy or Liz. My favourite nns for it would be Elsa, Eliza or Libby

I love it and the combos Elizabeth Vienna, Elizabeth Eve, and Elizabeth Zoe.
I like the nicknames Liz, Liza, and Ellie.

I like, and sometimes love, it. It's my mums middle name, so I would consider using it for a child, but probably in the middle name spot. My favourite nicknames are Beth (always my top), Libby, Elsie and Ellie. Something about Liz kind of rubs me up the wrong way.I think Elizabeth needs something spunky with it to liven it up a bit:
Astrid Elizabeth
Elizabeth Xanthe
Thora Elizabeth
Mila Elizabeth
Rhiannon Elizabeth
Naomi Elizabeth
Elizabeth Quinn
Clara Elizabeth
Regan ElizabethI've always like the spelling Elisabeth, too, but I don't think I'd use it - she'd just have to correct everyone all the time.

Hate it. It is grossly overused and boring. False sophistication. If I had to choose a nn for it, I always thought Liz would be the best option. Or maybe Beth.

I used to LOVE Elizabeth. Now, I just like it. It has such a pretty sound and so many nn possibilities! I like Eliza and Beth best, but I also like Lizzie for an every-so-often-used pet name. I don't care for Liz, Betsy, or Bess, but I do think Libby is kind of cute. I have a cousin named Elizabeth, nn Liz, so I couldn't use the name anyway. I think that's part of why I don't like it as much now--I see no point in making combos for potential future children with it.I'll make some here though!Elizabeth True
Elizabeth Thomasina
Elizabeth Tamsin
Elizabeth Isolde
Elizabeth Odessa
Elizabeth Penelope
Elizabeth Ariana
Elizabeth Sarah
Elizabeth Georgina
Elizabeth Helena
Elizabeth Josephine
Elizabeth Laurel
Elizabeth Zinnia
Elizabeth Cora
Elizabeth Charlotte
Elizabeth Norah
Elizabeth Mae

Great list. Elizabeth Georgina makes me smile the most. :-) Elizabeth Cora sound like a natural combo too.

I adore Elizabeth. I think it's one of the prettiest names out there. My favorite form of it is Eliza, which is the on nn I don't mind on its own. I don't find it bland at all; it's less bland than Katherine to me, though I do still love Katherine and Kate particularly. Elizabeth Claire
Elizabeth Jane
Elizabeth Helen
Elizabeth Margot
Elizabeth LauraMy favorite nn for Elizabeth (other than Eliza) is Lizzie. I also love Liza, Betsy, Eli, and I like Libby and Ellie.

I like it, I prefer Elisabeth though. It can be bland but in the right combo it can be really nice.
My favourite nickname is probably Ellie, though I've been toying with Eli "EE-lie" lately. Elsa is cool, too.Briar Elizabeth
Artemis Elizabeth
Fiona Elizabeth
Lyra Elizabeth
Luna Elizabeth
Zelda Elizabeth
Rory Elizabeth
Elizabeth Wren
Elizabeth Flora
Elizabeth Juniper

Elizabeth Wren and Elizabeth Flora are particularly nice combos. :-)

I don't mind the sound - I think it's kind of cool actually - but there were five Elizabeth's in my class and at least two in every other class at my very small high school, so it seems sooooo common to me, more so even than Emily or Sophia.I love Eliza, Liza, and Lizzy for nicknames.

It's a bit boring as it's so common but I think using an unusual nickname could spice it up a bit. I like Eliza and Bessie.

I find it boring, but I still quite like it. Not enough to use it, but I like to play around with it. I especially like it with the nn Eliza. Or rather, that's the only nickname I like for it. Beth, Lizzie etc are dated imo.

I find Elizabeth to be a little clunky, a little bland and quite a bit overdone. Having said all that, I like it well enough and have considered several combos -- the favorites being Elizabeth Juliet and Elizabeth Eve with the nn Ellie. I actually prefer Bess and Betsy which don't work with my surname.

I liked it. My favourite nickname is Lizzie.

I prefer Elisabeth, which is my favourite girls name. I think it looks harsh with the z. My current favourite nickname for it is Elsie, but it changes all the time.

I loooove it. It's classic and strong but still interesting. It's the opposite of bland. It's my middle name so I'm prejudiced. My favorite nn for it is Eliza but I don't make combos so I've got nothing there.

I love Elisabeth. I find the 's' to be softer. But either way I like the name. Its a solid classic. My reservation on using it is people calling her a nickname I don't like. Lol. I adore Betsy as an occasional nickname. But prefer to use it as a full name.

Never liked it. It's so generic, and also goody-two-shoes. Jane is generic the same way, or near about, but Jane doesn't strike me as goody-two-shoes. For whatever it's worth.
I think Liz is a nice, grown-up, practical nn, and Betty is a friendly grandma nn, and Beth is kind of pretty. And Betsy is kind of like Betty but with the urge to go out to boot scoots and karaoke nights and such.
