Heaven
I really dont care what other people think of my daughters name "Heaven Lee Grace" Lee Grace being her middle names. I named her that for a reason. I was told that I was not able to bear children before she was concieved. I even left my ex-husband for that reason-and others. When I found out that I was pregnant, I thanked God for raining down his Heavenly grace on me and giving me a child. Thats when her name hit me. I knew that would be her name. Dont knock the name....she may be the total opposite of her name....she is a hellion...i swear! LOL but the name is to represent what she is. She is Heavenly Grace in her self. She is my little miracle that isnt so little anymore. Yes I did change it to where her name was actually Heaven, and sounded better, but that doesnt matter here.

"Angelic" combos like Heaven Lee Grace are considered very tacky.

It's sweet. Heaven Lee Grace. I wouldn't want to be named it, myself. Would you? But it's very sweet, and I think very many names were originally inspired by the same kind of sentiments as yours. It's just that we don't know their meanings so much anymore. Like Hannah, it means grace. Or Isidora, gift of Isis. Or Theodore, gift of God. Or Felicity, which originally referred to Heaven. Or Desiree, which means desired, like 'we're so happy we got this child, she is all we desired.'By the way, you can add a comment to the name here http://www.behindthename.com/names/contribute.php?name=heaven

I mean, I don't think it's too hard to understand why you're posting this. It's to show there's a reason behind naming your kid something a lot of people react to as "tacky," that you're not just some dummy.I doubt I'd name my kid Heaven, but it's better than Nevaeh... and Eden gets tossed around on this board a lot, and taken seriously, so...

Will really likes the name Nevaeh.....*bursts into tears*

Hahahaha I like the part where you dump him!

Eden is seriously a decent name. It's not aspirational seeming like Heaven - it's sort of like Elysium (which you enthused about recently?) or Cherith ( http://www.behindthename.com/submit/name/cherith ). And it has been used a lot, so I think people accept it as a name more readily than Heaven. Nevaeh is better than Heaven, IMO, by the way.

I don't think Heaven is so different from Elysium or Eden. They're all aspirational. Eden and Elysium are just past-oriented-deluded rather than future-oriented-deluded."Deluded" is because I'm in the foulest of moods today.

Eden and Elysia are only literary. Heaven is meant more ... uh, literally? So to speak.Sorry about your mood. May "heavenly grace" seem to rain down on you today (not Heaven Lee Grace though - she's a hellion).

Oh. I guess if I were thinking about Eden and Elysia (I know a girl named this! She's a harpist) I'd definitely be doing it with a lot of real arcadian imagery!

I think the difference is that nobody here is using the combo Garden Eden Rose.

Okay, cool. I still have the right to think Heaven Lee Grace is an obnoxious name. Sorry but it's dumb.If you don't care, you don't care. Why defend yourself here?Alternatively:http://www.behindthename.com/names/search.php?nmd=mdu&terms=heavenhttp://www.behindthename.com/names/search.php?nmd=mdu&terms=heavenly

If you love it so much, why do you have to justify it to perfect strangers?

I knew a Heaven Leigh, much like Kelsey. She was a whore. Literally, she whored herself all through middle and high school. I feel like posters like you (if you're reading, which is doubtful) read the comments on the name and decided to whine about it here because you'll get more of a direct response. We can "knock" the name all we want, though. It's a pretty bad name in my opinion and there's nothing to stop me from saying so. It doesn't matter if it's someone's name out in the world.

I know a girl named Heaven Leigh. Hated her. I will always think it's a cheesey name. There are other ways to give your child a name that means "Heaven" and "Sent from Heaven" etc. without actually naming the kid Heaven. But, if you like it, good for you.

I'm pretty you found the internet equivalent to patting her hand and blessing her heart.
vote up1
Ooh, you're on to something. She could have named her daughter Sent-From-Heaven Grace Lastname. *sarcasm*

Celeste, maybe. Celeste Grace.
vote up1
Oooh, that's lovely.
vote up1
Yup. Or maybe not even Heaven, but something with a similar meaning. Idk. Anything but Heaven Lee/ Leigh. The girl I knew always referred to herself as "Heaven's Princess" and I swear she was sent straight from Hell. Ugh.

"Anything but Heaven Lee/Leigh"You do know people will take this to mean that Nevaeh Lee is better.
vote up1
But... it's not. But at least with Nevaeh Lee the cheesiness doesn't just hit you in the face. Even though it's still God-awful.

Just wondering: Does anyone else read Nevaeh Lee as "Eel Heaven?"

All Eels Go to Heaven.

Cool story bro.

Why do all these new people come here and act all huffy about their kids' names? Is it because they've had bad experiences on other boards? I've never understood this.

I think they're trying to leave comments. They probably click on "heaven" and read comments about it, and there isn't a clear way to reply, so they come to the forum.

yeah I think so tooThe abrupt way these messages start, as though there is already a conversation going on about them, really makes me think they think they are responding to the comments left on the name entry. And then they probably realize their mistake and get embarrassed and never come back.

Regarding "one-post wonders"When these types of posts surface, I always find myself thinking that:
a.) one should have to have a login - no guests
b.) one should not be allowed to start a new thread on the day one created the login
c.) one should have to respond to 10 other threads before being allowed to start one's first thread. Weed 'em out, I tell ya!

I don't know why people do this either. If they chose the name they should feel secure with it. The fact that they come here and get "huffy" about it shows that they have a twinge of doubt and just want people to know the whole back story so that somehow they feel better that other people feel better. If the name can't stand on its own, then it probably isn't a good name to most people.

This.

They almost never post again either. One post wonders.
If the OP is actually reading: When I was like, 11/12, I thought Heaven (and Angel) were the best names ever. I had this bizarre story idea about a girl named Heaven who immaculately conceived a daughter named Angel. There was no explanation as to why, I just thought it was a good mother/daughter set. Haha.

I must say that I don't understand your last sentence at all. Well, I knew a Heavenly, and people who were already mad would make fun of her name. I think you did better to give Heaven as a first name and Lee as a middle name than Heavenly as a first name. Heaven isn't as ridiculous as Heavenly.
