You're Honoring is a bit far fetched to me. I still can't get over how awesome the name Max Leland is though. Why don't you just use Max or Leland as a middle name for honouring? Does the first name have to be honoring? You should pick something you love rather than pick something that is very remotely similar to someone you are honouring.

That said, if you love the name use it. However I think Gilead is pretty awful. Malcolm isn't great but that's because I have bad associations, it's a fine name.

If it were me, I would just pick something I thought was awesome, not worrying about whether it's honoring, and have Max or Leland as middle names.
