What do you think about the name Olin? It's a Norse name meaning "ancestor"

Sounds interesting. I have weird associations with it (it is the name of the oldest, most dilapidated dorm building at my school) but I think I like the sound in general. I know I like Orin at least, and that's similar.
Well, I don't know where you're from, but Olin doesn't sound Norwegian at all. I'm not 100% sure of this since I'm Swedish, but it's sounds more English. If anything, it's a Scandinavian surname and those aren't used as first names such as Riley or Addison are in the US.
I also think Olin is too close to Elin, which is far more common. It's also a feminine name, so I'd avoid that. I'm not a big fan of Elias either. What about Linus Elias or Linus Eli ?
