Ooh... I missed the part where it was a cat. I was so confused by your first sentence!
On a human it sounds like something Leona would insist on being called as a moody, self-styled "tomboy" teenager, to be contrary, and would eventually grow out of.
I'd like to publicly announce that this was my exact intention when naming my Leo character. Except she's too old to be behaving that way, but too disoriented to realize it. She started out as the villain, actually, and then grew on me awkwardly so now I kind of awkwardly like her name.
