WDYT of Alyssa?
My husband mentioned that he likes it yesterday. I think it's pretty, maybe too popular. I like it but it's never jumped out at me. Also, our son's name is Andrew and I kind of feel like Andrew and Alyssa would be too cutesy. Anyway, thoughts on Alyssa? Thanks!!

My dd in heaven's name was Alyssa Madison 1997-98), I also like Analisa, Analiese, Alyse, Eliese etc. My dd's name is Kayce Eden. If my ds (1st born) was a girl, he was supposed to be Alyssa Erica, ended up being Nathan Eric.

Normally a 'y' is my guilty pleasure, but in this case, Alissa looks far nicer. It's more connected to Alice, and just looks crisper. I really like the name spelt that way, but not Alyssa._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I'm not crazy about it. It sounds dated to me as there was a rash of Alyssas and Alicias born 15 or so years ago (not sure of the timeline).

Boring, and overdone. Sorry.

I dislike it. It's been in the top two for my state since 1998, so I'm just sick of it. Andrew and Alyssa sound good to me and not too cutesy.~Erin Lee, wife of Matthew James, mama to Sarah Patrice~

The spelling Alyssa looks a little dated-trendy; somehow I see Alyssa hanging out with Claire, Nicole, and Jessica somewhere in a mall in 1995.Elissa is very nice, though, and has a bit more oomph to it, especially as Dido's alternate name.

HumI like it... but I prefer spelling Alissa. I also like Alisa. But yeah, Andrew & Alyssa would be a little too 'cutesy' or 'A' for me :)

I love Alyssa! You could always spell it Elissa if you don't want an A theme.

I think it's really pretty, but quite popular. It might date your daughter in the future. I'll admit that I love the spellings Elyssa and Elissa (but will probably deny it later), but Alyssa is the easiest, and I like that spelling too.Andrew and Alyssa, while not the perfect sibset, is not horribly matchy. They have the same first letter, but none of the other same sounds. If it's the only name you can agree on, go for it. If you were considering Andrea or Anna, I might feel differently.
