Lorelei
Up until the last two years, I've been fond of the name Lorelei, which is a variant spelling of Loreley from the German folktale commonly known. I really like the name, and I think it would make a cute girl name. But what I worry about how the name would be interpreted in and around Germany because of it's association with the folktale. I would appreciate comments on people's thoughts.

I'm guessing that you don't live in Germany, so it would be fine where you live. I think Lorelei is pretty.
I can't say much about how it would fare in Germany, sorry. But I figured I could throw my opinion in anyway. :)
I quite like Lorelei but it is very very Gilmore Girls to me. I watched that show all the time when I was younger so it's very stuck in my brain. But it's a good name, it's pretty, ages well, and the fact that it's tied to a folktale would only be a bonus in my opinion!

I think it's got an attractive sound. If you don't live in Germany I don't think there's any need to worry about what the associations are in Germany. If you do, you can ask around to find out; is the name ever used in Germany?
In the US, while plenty of people know the story of the Lorelei, the association isn't all that important.
