With Walter, I don't really like either nickname but if I had to, it would be Walt.

Walt. Wally sounds like a nerd.

I think Walter is a super unattractive name, and Wally and Walt are not much better. If I had to pick between the two I'd go with Walt. Wally sounds so goofy.

Walt, I find it more mature than a Wally. Wally was that impulsive kid who ran away from his home in Pokemon to prove he was healthy and all that.

My son Garrett's nickname is Wally, so I have to go with Wally. It's so sweet and warm.

I think Walt is kind of hot and Wally is bad.

I don't like any of them, but if I had to I'd go with Walt. It sounds more grown up, and it doesn't sound like Wall-E.

Frankly I can't stand either. Wally is a slight, whimsical insult as 'oh you're such a Wally!', not offensive or anything, but not great for a name. My Grandad is called Wally. Also makes me think if 'Where's Wally?'

Walt I just don't like the sounds of. It sounds really dated and makes me think of walnuts! I think I was put of by the character is ,Lost as well.

Basically I just wouldn't use the name Walter, personally.
