Re: groan-worthy twinset

I almost started to come down on this, but then I got to thinking, hell, if people want to give twins twinny names, what the hell. I knew one pair of twins with twinny names, Mary Beth and Mary Kate, and they didn't seem to mind. And I'm tired of people being critical of dressing twins alike. It's damn cute, up to a certain age. My mom used to dress my sisters alike, and occasionally all three of us alike, and my sisters sort of had twinny names even though they weren't twins, Patty and Pammy. I don't think that names alone or clothes alone are going to mess kids up.
But I'd hate if the twin names were different forms of the same name, but people do that for non-twins. My brother and his wife gave their twins non-twin names, John and Andrew, then gave the son who wasn't a twin a different form of John---Shane. I'd rather have seen the twins be something like Barry and Larry.
