Rose is definitely not automatically considered a nickname in the US. Highly unlikely that Rose would ever have people assume Rose is short for anything.
Rose is a very nice name. It's a bit cliched for a middle name; the world is full of Sophia Rose, Emily Rose, Lily Rose, etc. But as a first name it seems much nicer.
