Jessica on a boy?
Hello! I haven't posted on these boards in a while, I've been sorta busy. Anyway, I was looking at the popularities of certain names, when I noticed that in 1991, 1990, and from 1980-1989, Jessica made the top 1000 names list for boys! This site lists Jessica as a female name, so I thought this was a little strange. I have trouble seeing Jessica on a boy, probably because I know so many girls named this. I do like Jesse/Jessie for a boy though, but not a girl. What do you guys think?Just thought I'd share that with y'all!

I like my name, but never in my life on a boy.You know, David is listed here as a boy name but that made the top 1000 names list for girls. There are just some things that girls can get away with that boys can't; like having a name of the opposite sex.

David was in the top 1000 girl's names decades ago, but not now. The reason is the same as with Jessica (and many other names); back in the old days, gender mix-ups when accumulating statistics were common. Today, with better technology, such mix-ups happen much less often. That's why, contrary to what you once thought, names like Michael and James were once in the top 1000 girl's names, but not anymore.

Not much surprises me anymoreWhile playing Michelle's name popularity game yesterday I noticed that quite a few bottom of the Top 1000 popularities featured names for the opposite sex. I thought that was interesting. Their occurrences are waning though. I found that interesting too.

NOOOI HATE UNISEX NAMES!!! They're so stupid. When you hear someones name you should automatically know if its a boy or a girl. If more and more names keep becomming unisex, then what's the point in having a name when they're suppose to give clues as to who you are or in this case what you are.
