Nickname or shortname help please!
Hi everyoneOur son is Gabriel Patrick and I was wondering if anyone could come up with a name which isn´t Gabe, Gabi or Paddy. I don´t mind if it´s for one of the names or for both together, just that as we live in Spain "Gabe" sounds strange (people say GAY WHO?!)and I don´t like Gabi (Spanish nickname)because it remindss me of a girl.
Open to all suggestions,Many thanks

Gib or Patch maybe?

The best nns just happen naturally.Squeezing one out of a name can seem kind of forced. I'd just stick with Gabriel if Gabe doesn't work. Maybe something will just come along.Otherwise... maybe Geb, said like the name Jeb?

Rick or Abe

Abe, Pat, Rick, Ricky, Gap...? Or you can just wait until you come up with some nickname that describes his personality or appearance rather than his name.

Tricky? Trick? Gale?Array

I don't think it really needs a nn. I actually dislike most nn associated with Gabriel. So, being creative:Pat
Abe
Riel (REE-uhl / "real")
Iel (like EE-uhl)
Abri (A-bree, long A)
Rick

I was thinking about this alsoHow about using ABEL as a shortname for Gabriel. I realize it's a name in itself, but I also think it would be cool to be used like this.

But you know what
If it's alright by you
I'd rather be happy than a poet

Garick is a good one. Sounds like it could be a name on its own (Garrick)... Uh, oh. We might just be inspiring the creative namers of tomorrow! :)

Gabs? G? GP?I don't think Gabriel needs a nickname, it's short enough that people can use it in its full form.

Riel, pr. Ree-al ? or Rick or Ricky for Patrick.......or Briel (maybe Riel and Briel are too feminine........!?)........but I prefer Gabriel, why do you want to shorten it its pretty in its own
