Posie/Posy
I went to a children's summer camp production of The Little Mermaid tonight and the lead actress is named Posie. She's in high school and thought that's not a name you here often (at least in my area) The girl was delightful and incredibly talented.
So what do y'all think of Posy/Posie (her name was spelled with the ie) I think it may be too nicknamish for me. But just wanted a general what do y'all think for discussion.

I unabashedly love Posy. I try to ignore it because I KNOW it's "childish" and "flimsy" but I still can't help but think it's awesome. I'm not so sure I'd be brave enough to use it as a full name but I'd plan on using it as a NN for Rose.
I like it as a nickname for Josephine. I think it always has been a nickname. Its too cutesy for me as a full name.
I'm with you on the too nickname-y opinion. Cute as a nickname though.
I LOVE this name! I would like to use it for a future DD, but at this time DH is still dismissing it. I like Posy the best.
If I ever get another cat, I think I'm going to name her Posie. I like it on a cat, but not on a person. It's way too cutesy on a person. Like...beyond cutesy. The word "cutesy" doesn't even cut it. It's goofy, daft, and it sounds like a joke name. I honestly can't even imagine it as a nickname!
I really dislike it. I can't at all picture it working on a person..it sounds very very childish to me.
I really like it, but only spelled Posy and only as a nickname. It's just too informal/cutesy as a given name for me.
Josephine and Rosemary are my favorite full names for it.

I kinda like it. I don't like how it looks at all, especially Posy, but I like how it sounds a lot.
It's awful, so sickly-sweet and babyish. Even as a nn it's awful.
