Renée?
I recently came across the name Renée. I don't really know what to think about, but I kind of like it. Although I'm not a fan of René for a boy, I could see it on a girl. It's simple and common, but not that popular. It's also a family name from my husband. But he doesn't like it at all.
WDYTO? Do you like it or not? And, if you know it, why?

I don't mind it. It's my sister's name, spelt Renae.
I don't particularly like it, but I also don't mind it. I'm pretty "meh" about it.
I know the name because it's not very uncommon here. I've met one.

It is ok. It is my sister's middle name and I have discovered that guys really do not like Renee. I don't know why.
It has kind of a tomboy, tough, strong feel to it. I personally prefer softer girl names so maybe that is why I don't like it more.

I really like the name Renée. Unfortunately, I can't use it because a family "friend" would think I were honouring her, and no one in the family can stand her.
I also love René for a boy. :3 I think I love it more for a boy because of "Les Trois Mousquetaires". Another beautiful option for a girl would be Renata.
Personally, I think it looks completely silly and uneducated without the accent mark.

It's quite usual (though not overly popular) where I live. Used alone, or as a combined name-
Chantal-Renee (sorry, can't make the accent mark).
Renee-Claude
Laure-Renee.

It's my name, spelled Rene. (I'm a woman, btw.)
I like the look of Renee/Renée, but I dislike the sound of the name...to the extent that I internally wince every time someone says my name.

I like it, but not enough to use it. It seems really dated because all of the Renee's I know are in their 40s-50s. As the others have said, I wouldn't use the accent mark.
I like Renee, and I think it's underused. I wish I heard it more often.
I don't like accent marks in names. In the US, Renee is common enough that nobody has to be told how to pronounce it, so the accent mark is unnecessary. It's a nice enough name, I guess. Very popular as a middle name especially.
But if your husband really hates it, you might as well just take it off the table.
