I think you're right. In my generation you almost got sick of Sue, Beth, Jan and Pam, in particular. Yes, I have noticed that young boys more often go by a full name now. Still, you do hear Jake, Ben, etc.

My generation also was clogged with these: Patty, Debbie, Cindy, Sandy, Sherry, Kathy. OT, but I'm glad that trend died out too.
