Draco
One of my friends is pregnant with a boy and she wants to name her baby this. Personally I think it's weird and it always reminds me of Draco Malfoy and his fangirls.
What do you think? Is it too Draco Malfoy?

Actually it's not too unusual anymore. I've seen it rather frequently in recent birth announcements. So yes, there are real people with this name!
Someone previously mentioned Drake...why not Draco with Drake as the nickname?
I am a big HP nerd but that doesn't affect my perception of the name all too much.

Definitely too tied to Draco Malfoy, which really makes it unusable. Even if it wasn't for the character, I think it's unattractive and rather pretentious.
I do vaguely think of the character, but that wouldn't stop me from using a name that I loved.
However, Draco is just a bad name to give a child. It comes from the ancient lawmaker who handed out harsh punishments for breaking laws (hence the word draconian). Normally the meaning of a name wouldn't phase me, but that connotation is just too much to saddle a child with.
Has she considered Drake?

Good Idea!
Drake nn Draco would be much easier!

You're right.
Real people have more bearing on a name than fictional characters.

I like it. I do have a sort of 'character' mental image I associate with this name, but it isn't Draco Malfoy... more like a more attractive, dramatic version of Snape. I don't know if I read a book with another character named Draco and have since forgotten the book, or if that's just the image I get from the name Draco...
Yes, it's definitely too Draco Malfoy. It's a horrible name.
I love Draco. I think it's a fantastic name. It do remind me of Draco Malfoy though, but since I'm a huge HP nerd that doesn't bother me.
It isn't too Draco Malfoy. It *is* Draco Malfoy. The only reason anybody is using Draco or even thinking about it is because of stupid Draco Malfoy and stupid girls who think he's cute. Why do they seem to love him so much? He's mean, and he's not even clever in his meanness.
Yes, it is too Draco Malfoy, and I will never understand why he has fangirls. It has nothing to do with his character, either, it's Tom Felton himself. He looks like he's strung out on heroin, or something. Too skinny and girly, IMO.
Actually, now that I think of it, I don't understand the "hotness" of Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint, either. They all look like little boys. Maybe that's the appeal? IDK.

OT-ish
I keep telling my sister that for the last few movies, Draco looks like a heroin addict!

He looks like a cleaner version of Jason Mewes to me. And JM actually was a heroin addict at one point.
