Its my absolute favourite name. I adore it. I think it short and sweet but I don't think it's plain. It's not too common and I don't think the biblical connotations are a big deal.

I love the nickname Evie, which makes it seem a bit younger and less outdated.

I love Eve! I don't mind the Biblical associations, even though I am not religious. I don't find Eve plain or outdated, either. It seems edgy to me, mysterious, and very pretty.

I LOVE the name Eve for it's elegant and beautiful simplicity. I agree that the Biblical connection is not the best one, but it's still a gorgeous name. I certainly don't find it plain or outdated. Personally I like it paired with a more unusual, maybe slightly out-there mn, to give it even more spunk.

My favorite form is Eva (pronounced EH-vah), but I like Eve as well. It's certainly not outdated (Evie seems to be quite a popular nickname for names like Evelyn, Evangeline, etc.) or plain.

I think it's much, much nicer-sounding and looking than Lilith. For some reason the Biblical connotation of Eve isn't as unpleasant as Lilith, though again, that may be at least partly due to the fact that the names sound so different.
I do like Eva better, it has a cleaner, easier sound than Eve.

Eve is one of my favorites. Short and sweet. Timeless. Not dated at all. I don't think bibilical at all with Eve. I agree with the other posters. I started loving Eve from a boon series I was reading.

My best friend is called Eve! So this is going to be biased but...
I think Eve is pretty without being frilly, girlie without being too long and over the top, short and strong without sounding masculine, and simple without appearing to be missing something. I like Eve both as a name in it's own right and as a nickname for Evelyn.
Growing up with a friend called Eve the biblical character barely registers but it would just be like calling a son Adam - and there were quite a few Adams at my school too.
Just as a little interest note, my friend Eve had a twin brother called Grey, which I always thought was a lovely twinset. :)

I'd like to like it much more than I do. It's just too close to 'heave' for me. And I don't enjoy Eva or Evelyn either. It's a pity - Eve, with all my reservations, is a much nicer name than the highly-esteemed Adam!

Oh I don't find Eve plain and outdated at all. It's a very lively name, very alert. I actually connect it more to the movie "All About Eve" and Bette Davis (who did not play Eve in the movie but is still a powerful force on the screen) than the Biblical character.
