Sutton is a surname. And as far as I am concerned surnames are unisex though most of them in my eyes tend to lean towards the masculine side. I think this for Sutton as well, I can't see it on a little girl, despite it being the surname of one of my female childhood best friends.
I don't know who Sutton Foster is, so I wouldn't assume that you got it from her.
