Curtis
I've mostly hated this name but I've been warming to it just recently. I still really detest Curt and am afraid a Curtis would become Curt. How do you like Curtis and what do you think the chances of avoiding Curt are?

I went to school with a boy called Curtis who was never ever Curt. It reminds me of Otis because of the similar ending, I think Otis is a dog's name and Curtis hovers on the fence for me.

I know one Curtis who goes by Curt and one who goes by Curtis. I think it's avoidable for a while. But eventually Curtis will have his own opinion. So if it's going to bother you if your Curtis chooses Curt, then it'd be better to avoid the name altogether. It is, after all, a fairly logical and obvious nickname. As for liking the name. Hm, not really. But I can appreciate it's use.

I think Curt is kind of nice. I think you'd warm up to it quickly if you had a baby Curtis or something like that.I don't really like Curtis that much - never have. It's always seemed really geeky to me, along the lines of something like Myrtis. But in real life I think it would actually work well, like Malcolm. It's the name of one of the most notoriously exclusive and high-quality music schools in the world, too, so there's that.

I think the chances of avoiding Curt are pretty good, actually. Around here, Curtis is a fairly common name for men say, over forty, I've known several and none of them were ever called Curt to my knowledge.
I'm not a fan of it but it isn't terrible.
