Totally usable for a boy. I think it's a tad bit boring, but it's an okay name. I know quite a few guys named Robin and only one girl.
I'd highly recommend a MN that eliminates any doubt that it's meant as a boys name.
Robin Ambrose
Robin Conrad
Robin Gordon
Robin Harold
Robin Harvey
Robin James
Robin Leander
Robin Lysander
Robin Andreas
Robin Arthur
Robin Sebastian
Robin Carbry
Robin Corbinian

Robin Hood, Robin Williams, Robin.....
Well, it's a boys' name, and it's great! In the middle ages, 'Robert' and 'Robin' were basically the same. That's why Robin Hood is sometimes called Robert Hood. Call the kid Robin, put Robert on his birth certificate, teach him to shoot a bow and arrow, and it'll be fine.
