Anne is my preferance.Not sure why,it just has a brighter colour than Anna.

I prefer Anna. It's beautiful and more interesting. Anne is boring.

I don't really care for either one. I find Anne more boring than Anna, but then again, I have had better luck with people named Anne and Ann than I have with people named Anna. If Anne could be combined with another name (ex. Anne Marie) and she didn't have to just go by Anne, I would choose Anne. Otherwise, I would probably go with Anna because it is more lively.

I prefer Anne. Anna is so boring. However, the Spanish form Ana is better than both of them.

Anna is less plain to me. It's also visually more appealing.

I prefer Anne. I like its simplicity and maturity. It's strong, feminine, and an uncommon classic. Anne feels fresher and more interesting to me than Anna these days. Anne also brings more positive associations to my mind, from explorers to queens, pirates to poets, performers to characters.

You couldn't go wrong with Anna, either. It's soft, pretty, low frill, and, hey, palindrome.

Well, Anne is prettier but Anna more international.

They're both okay but for a middle name, I like Anne. Anna I don't like enough to ever say I prefer it for a first-name slot.

I like both. I honestly don't hate them or love them. Anne is really classy and simple. It's a little plain, and boring. I hate the spelling Ann. Like Anne of green gables says, adding a e onto Ann makes a difference. Anne has been a common middle name but it goes well with basically all names. Anne is basically a word almost because of "an." Oh well. It's not to noticeable with the n and e.
Anna is a classic too. I do like it because it's more feminine than Anne. I dislike the spelling Ana. It makes Anna sound so dull. Anna sounds pretty and chic.

Definitely Anna. I find Anne very bland, and I dislike the sound.

I love both as well, but prefer Anna. I just think it's prettier.

Anna. Because I associate Anne with old people.

I prefer Anne because it's more regal and less expected.

In the past I would have said Anna, because of the softer sound (the second syllable offsets the Ann sound, which is given a harsher emphasis on it's own).

But Anne's been seeming refreshing to me lately. Anna's never been the same in my eyes since I was in a conversation where someone said "Anna is a bitchy rich girl's name". Anne is very familiar, but less overused than Katherine, Elizabeth, Mary etc – boring yet refreshing, if that makes sense. And has the wonderful association with Anne Bancroft. :)

Also, I really like Anne but I hate Ann, and I'd be reluctant to use Anne because it could be mistaken for Ann since they have the same sound.

I used to love Anna, but lately I've been charmed by Anne's class and simplicity. Anna seems a bit more youthful and carefree to me. I would imagine it on a young girl. Anne is sweet for a little girl, but is also respectable and fitting for an adult.
