twins Hannah & Savannah?
My sister is having twins. We're not sure of the sex yet, but she is thinking about this pair for girls:Hannah Louise
Savannah LaneShe has always adored both names Hannah & Savannah. Louise is a family name. Lane is actually my sister's middle name but she really likes it (I do too). What do you think about rhyming twin names? What do you think of each name individually and as a pair?

I think they should be named Louise Savannah and Hannah Lane. If you like the matchy thing for twins, at least make it bareable for them to live with.

Hannah Louise is sweet and old fashioned.
Savannah Lane is sassy and modern. It also a bit like a clothing boutique. I really dislike rhyming names for twins and the names are really different styles so I don't like them as a pair.

I think choosing rhyming names for twins is terrible because they are two individual people, they should have separate names too. If you wouldn't choose Hannah and Savannah for siblings, why should the names be used for twins? It's that simple to me. Why not Hannah Lane and Louise Savannah, if your sister MUST use both Hannah and Savannah?

Why do most people pick rhyming names for their twins? Why?It's bloody awful. And then most of them proceed to dress them in the same clothes and the like as well. Why? It seems these people do everything possible to undermine those children's own identity, their own sense of self. They're separate persons of their own, not one being like the Borg from "Star Trek". Do those people ever think about that, do they ever even get past the stage of "Ooooh, it's sooo cute!!!"? Also, do those people even consider that telling the twins apart will be difficult enough as it is for people, but rhyming names are only going to make that worse? If I ever had any twins, I would make sure they both had very different names and never do things like dress them the same and the like. Also, my maternal grandmother is one of twins (she has a twin brother), and fortunately my great-grandparents had the good sense to give them both very different names. My grandmother's name is Mariet, her brother's name is Ton. Both are old-fashioned names and not the prettiest ones, but at least they are different from each other.

They're a little too similar. Not so much that it would bother me, but if there's a name you like just as much I would replace one of them with that name.It doesn't bother me so much that they rhyme. I don't know why. On 'Little House on the Prairie' were sisters named Carrie and Mary and that never bothered me either, in fact I didn't notice it for years. I love Savannah. Hannah is nice. I don't mind Louise and Lane but prefer Louisa.

If those are the two names she likes above all others, and wouldn't mind being one of these twins with her sister having a rhyming name, I think it's fine. In general I would not want to give my kids rhyming names, and it'd probably keep me from using a favorite - but I don't think it's a big deal, or tacky or whatever. It's only cheesy and dumb, if the names are chosen BECAUSE they rhyme.I'd switch the middle names, though. Hannah Lane and Savannah Louise. Makes each name more colorful and interesting.

I really dislike those two names together. They need to have their own identities. Here's some alternatives your sister might like...Hannah Louise & Victoria Lane
Hannah Louise & Caroline Lane
Hannah Louise & Clara Lane
Hannah Louise & Natalie Lane
Hannah Louise & Josephine Lane
Hannah Louise & Camilla Lane
Savannah Lane & Anastacia Louise
Savannah Lane & Amelia Louise
Savannah Lane & Camilla Louise
Savannah Lane & Angela Louise
Savannah Lane & Hazel Louise
Savannah Lane & Adelaide Louise

I don't like rhyming twin names at all. They're way too cheesy. I like Hannah and Savannah individually, but wouldn't recommend using them together.Between Hannah and Savannah, I prefer Hannah.

No use beating around the bush with it...that sibset sounds ridiculous. Those names are way too similar to be used in a sibset. The fact that the girls are twins possibly makes it even worse...as if they won't already have enough similarities. I don't mind either name although Hannah is very 90's and very popular.

I think they are okay separately but not as twins (or siblings). Also Louise and Lane make me think of Lois Lane.

Rhyming twin names, at one time, were not unusual. Now they are. Aside from the difficulty posed when calling one of them from across the house or something, I don't see a problem. I think the fact that rhyming names no longer are usually used is simply a matter of fashion, or trends, or whatever you want to call it.I like both Hannah and Savannah, although I have some preference for Hannah.

Savannah is pretty, Hannah is as bland as skim milk. Savannah Lane sounds like a street address. Hannah and Savannah sound very much in the same line as Hannah Montana. I think rhyming twin names are cheesy in general.

I think rhyming twin names are hokey and cutesy and lame, and these two are no exception. I really like Hannah Louise, but Savannah Lane paired with it sounds stupid.

dittoSavannah is so tacky

I like both Hannah and Savannah, but not for sisters. Rhyming names for siblings, whether they're twins or not, is a horrible idea. It's nice that the middle names have meaning, but Savannah Lane sounds like a place--like a street in Savannah. I'd rather see Hannah Lane or (NOT and) Savannah Louise.

I really like Hannah, but I'm not a fan of Savannah. Together, especially as twin names, they're quite bad... I hope she changes one of them to something more different to the other. The middlenames are nice.

I like Savannah. Not so much Hannah. And together I think they are horrid..I hate rhyming sib names.

I don't like rhyming names for any kind of sibling, not just twins. Individually, they are fine.

Not a good idea. I think they're way too similar for twins girls (or to be in the same sibset at all).Louise & Lane make me think of Superman, but they're okay.

I'm sorry, but I think that's a bit ridiculous. Rhyming names is never a good idea.
I'm not very fond of either name, but Savannah is slightly better than Hannah.

I've got a fine Savannah niece, but I really dislike it as a human name. Hannah is slightly better than Anna, but they're both dull. And as a combo, I cannot see the point of creating confusion and, yes, amusement just because of liking the names. Savannah Lane sounds like an address, which doesn't help.Ann-Louise is a bright merger with a cool Scandinavian feel. Perhaps she could consider it? And Lane Savannah would be a huge improvement on Savannah Lane! But, right now, I'm hoping for at least one boy.

Rhyming twin names is never a good idea. They're already going to be treated as a pair for much of their lives, why burden them with matching names too? They are individuals (even though they are twins too) and deserve to be treated as such.
