I think any name which has the "Eve" sound in it can work, so Genevieve isn't a stretch at all to me as the "Eve" sound is quite prominent. "Eve" for Guinevere is less intuitive but the "ee" and "v" sound are both there, albeit reversed. I wouldn't think people would have too difficult a time accepting it, though I think "Vera" would be more intuitive sound-wise.
