I used to really dislike this because of the movie 'Juno' which I didn't like at all. It also made me think of the dog in 'Wuthering Heights' which is well written, but I didn't care much for the story. So I had nothing but negative associations with it.
Recently I have watched a few movies starring an English actress named Juno Temple. She's talented and kind of cool and she really made me like the name. As I heard it for the first time associated with the movie I just disliked it and never noticed its nice and unusual sound.
I like girls names that end in an -o sound, Marlowe and Meadow are favorites. I also really like June and Juno seems like a perfect combination.
Do you think it's too strongly associated with the movie or will people have forgotten about it in a few years?
Do you think Meadow and Juno or Marlow and Juno work for sisters or are the two -o endings a little much (as it is quite an unusual ending for a girls name)?

Let's not forget the Roman mythology reference. You could always have an pesky questions about Juno the movie answered with, "No, like Jupiter's wife. Juno. The goddess of the heavens... duh."
Though don't that probably sounds pretentious.
I really like Juno. It is quirky and punchy, but there is still some mystical, feminine quality to it.
I also really adore Juno Temple, too. She's lovely and very talented. I hope we see even more of her in the future.
Honestly, I think the important people in your life will lose any former association with anything else, and your daughter will be their new association for the name Juno.
I personally like mixing it up a bit. I don't like the same endings for siblings... but really I think that is just a personal taste thing.

I personally associate it with the film Juno but I like it so I don't mind. My second association is the Roman Goddess which I really really like :)
Meadow or Juno? Probably Juno but I like them both.

June or Juno? Definitely Juno, so much more spunky and fresh than June. :)

I really like it. I liked it before the movie came out, and like you I was a little nervous about the association being too strong but quite honestly, I don't think that's an issue. The movie wasn't hugely popular and I think people will have forgotten about it in a few years. My problem is, being Canadian, we have a music award show called "The Juno Awards" and that's where the strong association thing becomes a problem. I'd be worried about people thinking I named my kid after an award...like naming a child Grammy.
I also like June, but I do prefer Juno for its spunk and flair. Meadow, Marlow, and Juno are too rhyme-y for me. Sounds a bit cheesy or something, like they're characters from a book. Also, Juno seems to stand out in that sibset as being the odd one out and I don't like that.
Not sure how to answer this last part, but if it's like a survey...

I actually like Juno but as a guilty pleasure.
I do prefer Juno to Meadow (which is ridiculous in my opinion) and Marlowe(which is actually masculine)but I prefer June to Juno. June is simply beautiful.

I don't like Juno. To me it's basically June with a spunky boyish-connotating O tacked on, legitimized after the fact by the goddess. When used by people with a similar background to my own, anyway. Yuck. Oh, and it has that NO sound in it that I don't like.

I really like the name Juno. It seems like it would fit any type of person, and I just like the sound too - I like it better than June.
I don't know about it being too strongly associated with the movie. I haven't seen the movie Juno, but I'd say that it would have been lots of people's first encounter with the name and would then be what they first think of when hearing the name. But so many names have unpleasant associations, and I reckon most people won't think of the movie in a few years, or barely think of it now. I can speak for myself and say that I don't think of the movie at all when I hear the name - I think of Juno Temple!

I think more than a few people might ask a Juno if she was named after that (crappy) movie, but I say so what. There are other associations for Juno. It wouldn't be like being named...I dunno, Skywalker or Bilbo.

I'm in the same boat. I loved the name Juno and then that movie came out. I really wish she were named something different. Ditto about "Wuthering Heights."
Juno Temple sounds familiar. I know she was in the last Batman movie as Catwoman's sidekick but I can't think of what else she's been in. I think it's great that her name is Juno (assuming it's her real name).
I hope people will forget about it in a few years.

Juno Temple's been in St Trinians, Wild Child, Atonement... That's all I can think of at the moment.
I'm pretty sure Juno's her real name. I think it's Juno Violet Temple. Awesome name!

I don't think the movie would make it unusable. People would think of it, no doubt, but I don't think it would be a big deal.
I think Marlow and Juno make the better sibset. I like girls names that end in -o, too. There's just something about them that's sarcastic and likable.
