I lived in the beautiful state of Virginia for many years so I should like it as a first name but to me it is too "state name". Also, it sounds too stuffy to me honestly. That said, I had a doctor in Virginia who named her baby daughter Virginia in 2011. I was surprised by the choice! She calls the little girl "Ginny" which is sweet.
