I'm biased towards it myself, what with it being my name lol I did have some issues with it when I was younger and had people asked me if I could cast a spell or twitch my nose, cause of Bewitched (this was the 90s, when it was on Nick at Night all the time). It's definitely hardly ever an issue now so if you were to use, I think your kid would be safe from that annoyance at least! I have never been teased for my name either, though I have been asked if it's "a real name" (for real lol). I mostly get compliments when people first hear my name. Lots of "oooh wow that's pretty, you hardly ever hear it!"

For nicknames, I go by Tabby, Tabby cat, Tabs, and Tab. That last one did tend to cause me some confusion in computer class lol

So, yeah, I like it. It's unusual but not out and out weird, which is awesome.

I like Tabitha. I think it's refreshing because I've never met one, and I like the quirkiness of it.

I like it! It would be cool to see. I don't think it fits a baby well, but she won't be a baby for long. (Now that I think about it, I actually prefer Talitha. It has more youth to it, less of an old lady or cat vibe. But Tabitha is still nice.)

I really like it. It does remind me of cats, like some people have probably already mentioned in this thread, but since I like cats, that's a good thing to me.

It's okay, but I don't usually care for the th sound, and Tabitha sounds so much like a cat name. Even without the nn Tabby, I've known several people who had cats named Tabitha.

I like it, but avoiding Tabby would be an ongoing battle.

Might you consider Talitha instead? The database gives a biblical reference, but in the 19th century when the women's movement started, Talitha or Talitha Kumi got used for the names of women's colleges. Which is a nice thing to think about!

It's surprisingly grown on me over the past few months, I picture it on a shy girl which put me off originally but now I think of her as quite charming and overlooked. I detest Tabby which is my only problem with the name, but I do think Tabs would be a cute nn and would probably manifest by itself eventually. :)

I think it's very pretty and I love the Biblical connections. It's not popular but it is commonly known and not used enough I think. Tabby is an okay nickname but I actually prefer Tibby or just plain Tabitha. Have you thought of middle names?
