Luca
What are your thoughts on the name Luca?
I really like it, but our last name begins with the same hard c at the end of Luca, so I've always given it the Instant Veto without really thinking much about it. However, as the days get closer to the baby being born, I'm finding myself much more desperate. :)

I prefer Lucas, but Luca is nice. I would generally stay away from the repeated "c" sounds so close together, but I am reminded of why I warmed to the name Luca to begin with...the handsome, Luka Kovak, played by Goran Visnjic on TV's "ER". I have to admit I never noticed a problem with this character's name and I'm sure it was said rather frequently.

I quite like Luca. I'd consider using Luka if it wasn't so popular here (it's been number one for the past decade).

I like it. I first started liking it for a girl, but I've grown to like it on boys too. I don't think it would be too bad with a C last name. Not as bad as Luke, for instance, because it has a vowel in between.

Luca C___ makes me quit hesitant as well. Unless maybe the first sound is "kay" (Luca Cambridge), I don't think I would do it. I do like the name though. Even if it does sound a bit trendy.

On a kid like mine (American with no particular other heritage) it's just Euro-chic. Luca is to Lucas and Luke as Matthias and Matteo are to Matthew. I don't mean it's bad, but it's sort of like Erik, Sean, Keith, Brian, Kyle ... pulled from another language to get away from the mainstream. Trendy, in a weird way?Not so much if you're from a country where Luca is the usual form of the name.I think Lucas C______ would sound nice(r).

I don't like when hard-c's collide. It just sounds clumsy and unattractive. And I don't like Luca either. "My name is Luka, I live on the second floor." Also it has the vibe of "Lucas and Luke are just soooo popular, we're going to call him Luca!"
