I wouldn't have said Hope had a particularly religious feeling. Anyone can hope, not just the religious. I used to love the combination Hope Margaret / Margaret Hope. I still do.
Hope as a name is strong, not frilly, and uses letters in the alphabet that need more of an outing than they usually get. It's very refreshing as a name. :-)
