Well, honestly, it is one of my least favourite names. It's like the kind of name you'd only find on some Dickensian snob character. Arabella is the same, but Araminta is worse. It just sounds silly! I can't take it seriously or imagine it on a kid. And yeah, I'm not a fan of the mint part either.

I like it though not enough to use it. It sounds very aristocratic. I like Minty as a nickname too.

it's not a name I would put on a list of names I find attractive however I can appreciate it. it certaintly is interesting.

I love Araminta! It's both whimsical and stately.

Araminta gives you fresh breath without drying your mouth. Perfect for those spur of the moment occasions when you can't get to a toothbrush.
Now comes in super-plaque-busting formula.

It's a good name, though you'll have to be strict about not letting her be called "Minty", that's if you don't like Minty.

I like it a lot. It's feminine and classy. Although it's unusual, I don't think its too hard to spell or pronounce, even for people who haven't encountered the name before.
