James is in the middle of one of my top combos also, for me it honours as well as being a really nice name. I wouldn't use it in the first name spot because 1) I still think it's quite popular despite, and 2) James is my cousin's name (hence the honouring). I like James, I think it's strong and classic, not too wild about the potential nicknames of Jim, Jimmy, Jamie etc, but my cousin and many other James's that I know managed to grow up without getting one :)
