Nuria

I used to like it but I've gone off it, now it sounds vaguely medical to me. It's a pretty colour though, like sunny/fiery orange yellow.
I think it's gorgeous.
It doesn't really grab me... at least not in a good way... I know it has nothing to do w/ the name, but for some reason, the first thing that came to mind was diarrhea... Teasing potential found easily there in En. countries... Possibly not a problem in some other countries though.
? ? ?
But plenty of other names end in -ria, like Maria. I don't think it would cause teasing.
When names are less common, they seem to draw more attention to themselves... and I'd be surprised if there haven't been at least a few Marias over the years who've had stupid diarrhea comments from people, despite the name's popularity.
It makes me think of proteinuria. :-/
Oddly enough, my first thought was "nutria", which, as you may know, is a sort of muskrat, an acquatic animal.(I watch a lot of Animal Planet.)So, the name wouldn't fly for me,but not everyone thinks of muskrats!
I have a young relative(5 years old) who has Noor as her middle name.
