Yes. It was a part of Roman mythology long before it became part of the Judeo-Christian legend.

I know a 25-30 year old named Lucifer. It didn't seem to bother him much even when it raised eyebrows.

However, it is not a name that I would use.

Oops I meant to post this up top.

Anyway Lucifer typically goes by Luc (loos) these days.
