Kasra (male)
Opinions on this name? Being Persian, there are not many Persian male names that grab me, but I think this one does have some appeal. You'll all probably all say it sounds girly, but I don't think it does.

A endings don't constitute girly for me. It is a simple name that sounds pleasant. I like it.
Hmm. I like it. It's different without being inaccessible. You didn't ask, but I have to say Kasra has more verve than Ezra.
It may end in an A, but it doesn't have a girly feel. Visually, it reminds me of names like Kazimir and Casper, and I assumed it was masculine at first glance.

The Lion King
My first thought was that it could fit in with Simba, Nala, and the Lion King cast of characters. It's not bad though.

There's a Kasra at a school my daughter goes to! I always check out the names on the sign-in list when I drop her off. I don't think it's girly, but I wasn't sure of the gender until I looked it up. I like it! It's ... it's better than Ezra ... doh. Forgive me for that please. But it's true, it has that nice zra sound in it but has the punchy K sound and isn't fusty. And it's not Hebrew - Hebrew-origin names often sound too conservative to me somehow.
