The vette ending makes Yvette sound cheap and flashy, like a little tiny plastic sports car that has terrible gas mileage, falls apart at the drop of a hat and comes in neon colors.
Yvonne is much prettier and more classy. If it was a car it would be a sleek, high-priced sports car with an engine that purrs and seats that seem to embrace you when you sit down.

And I see what you mean. Before now I had been more partial to Yvette because it was a bit softer, but lately I'm liking Yvonne more and more.
