It would seem that Lily Allen really loves that 1920s retro-chic when it comes to names!
Personally, I would never use Ethel. (For me it will forever be synonymous with great-grandmothers, and the character on "I Love Lucy.") Ethel Mary is ultra-retro, but one thing the little girl can most likely count on is being the only one in her class!
Marnie Rose, on the other hand, I find adorable! Good choice. And Ethel & Marnie make great sister-names.

I like Marnie a lot actually. It is an under appreciated name that has lots of nice qualities- lovely meaning, easily pronounceable, uncommon but known. I also think it ages a lot better that a lot of other girls names ending with an -ee sound. They did really nicely.
I'm also kind of partial to Ethel. I think it is a pretty name. Ethel and Marnie sound so sweet as sisters.
