It may or may not be top 100 next year. I think it'll probably move up, but at the same time, I don't see any signs of it becoming super popular. I've never met one.
Personally, I really like Violet (obviously, as it's my user name.) It doesn't remind me of the word "violent," though I can see why it might for some people. I also don't find it too old-fashioned. Old-fashioned is in, as far as I'm concerned, so it doesn't really matter unless it's horribly dated (which is different than being old-fashioned.)
