Clara, Calla, Winifred and Nimue
1. I like both Clara and Calla, but it is obvious that they are too much alike, so I'll have to choose. Both names have their advantages: Clara is a classic, and it would honour my late grandmother, Klára (see Klara), while Calla is different, and has a lovely meaning. My question is, which of these two would you use? Furthermore, do you like Clara Pearl or Calla Iris?
2. I loved Nimue since I heard the name (I was about ten that time), but thought it was way too "out there" to be used. But when I add names like Rhea to my list, I feel leaving Nimue out is not justified anymore. To add or not to add, that is the question... and, as always, middle names.
3. I need opinions on Winifred. First of all, Winifred or Winnifred? Is it Winnie the Pooh, or an interesting and delicate name? What do you think of Winifred Ivy? Ivy Winifred (hard to pronounce)?
All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

1.Calla Iris. Clara is a nice name but I could have ended up as a p
Pearl and i don't like that idea!
Iris is a great name and I love it (but that's mainly 'cos of my mate Ji Hyun who's english name is Iris)
2. Nimue is a strange but cool name what does it mean?
3. Winifred is a bit old fashioned these days. Ivy Winifred isn't too hard to pronounce and it sounds better than Winifred Ivy.

I'm shocked to see this name occasionally pop up on message boards. It's a huge favorite of mine, one that would probably be my top choice if it wasn't quite so odd.
Maybe as a mn.... I don't think I'd use it as a first though. I see no harm to having it on a name list though!
I like Clara more than Calla. I just don't really like the way Calla comes off my tongue -- it's almost awkward to say. Paired with Iris, I find it a little too floral.
I don't care for Winifred much. It just doesn't seem very usable to me. It makes me think of Winnie from "The Wonder Years."

I adore Clara. It's lovely to want to honour your grandmother. :) Of Calla Iris and Clara Pearl, I vote for Clara Pearl hands down. Though Iris is a lovely name, I don't much care for Calla. Clara Pearl Iris sounds wonderful, too.
I would definitely add Nimue to your list. It's just too beautiful to ignore. It has a haunting quality to it that is so attractive. As for middle names, I don't think that just any name could properly complement it. Something from mythology would go great with it.
Nimue Argante
Nimue Freya
Nimue Ginevra
Nimue Viviane
Nimue Bellatrix
Nimue Sirona
Nimue Ariadne
Winifred realy isn't my cup of tea, but I prefer the Winifred spelling. Ivy Winifred sounds fine.

1. Definitely Clara. Even without the family reference, Calla just doesn't seem substantial enough. Clara Pearl is gorgeous. Calla Iris is especially irritating, given calla lilies.
2. Nimue is beatiful. But I would keep it as a mn.
3. Winifred (this spelling) is delightful! I see it as very delicate and sophisticated. Winifred Ivy is an enchanting combination. Love it.

I thought it was NIM-ooh, and probably most people will say it that way on first glance. It doesn't look or sound very nice. Nimue Sophia, Nimue Lily, Nimue Charlotte, Nimue Christina, Nimue Elena

1. I ADORE both names and both combos you have come up with, but I'll have to go with Clara Pearl. The flow is a little nicer, and I like Clara a bit more than Calla. Plus it honors your gm. :)
2. I'm not a big fan of Nimue, but if you love it, then don't let others' opinions stop you. I have the same issue, worrying what others will think of the names I like/give my children. If they like/love you, they'll get used to your kids' names and love them, regardless. :b
3. Winifred Ivy and Ivy Winifred are both great! I slightly prefer the latter. I'm a big Winnie the Pooh fan, so I definitely connect Winifred (prefer this spelling) and Pooh, plus I prefer the nn Winnie to Fred/Freddie. So using Ivy as the fn would avoid that associate a bit.

Clara and Calla are lovely but if you're worried about them being too similar, how about Claire instead of Clara? And, imo, Clara Pearl is a much prettier name :)
Nimue is gorgeous, I think! Add it if you love it so much! I'm definitely adding it to my name generator :) Beautiful...
Not a fan of Winifred, personally (plus I just loved the movie Hocus Pocas as a girl and it makes me think of Winifred the witch lol). I've never really liked the name 'Fred'. It's just... ugly imo - the sound of it. Winny or Winnie will ALWAYS bring to mind the beloved Winnie the Pooh. I think if you keep Winifred as a mn, it's not so bad. Ivy Winifred is fine.

1. Definitely Clara - it's a very beautiful, retro-chic name. I personally don't like Calla that much.
2. Definitely " to add"! Nimue is a gorgeous name with a wonderful association to the Arthurian legens. I don't think it's too out there at all. It's unusual, but not in the bad way.
3. Winifred is beautiful, original, and definitely interesing and delicate. I absolutely adore this name. Winifred Ivy makes a stunning combo.

I really love your taste in names.
1. Both names are lovely, but I prefer Clara. I love the fact that is honors your grandmother, and I think Clara Pearl is absolutely gorgeous.
2. I really have the exact some problem with this name. I love it, but I wonder if it's a bit too out there to use on a child. I'm undecided as to whether or not it would be good as a first name, but I think it's perfect as a middle name.
3. I like Winifred the best. I love Winifred Ivy; I don't think there's an issue with the pronunciation at all.l
